Rachel Lee BSc, Dip Yoga Alliance, Dip Birthlight, Dip ITEC
Rachel began practising Yoga in 2000 and fell in love with it from her first class. She loved the way practising Asana (Yoga postures) & Pranayama (breath awareness) released tension from the body & in turn brought deep relaxation & peace of mind. Through her yoga practice & studies to be a massage therapist & aromatherapist, she came to recognise the connection between the body and mind & our inter-connectedness with the universal energy.
In 2005 she decided she wanted to deepen her knowledge & experience of yoga & undertook her teacher training in the Elbowroom with Anthony Kearney, Lisa Wilkinson & Jaananda. She is a registered teacher with the Yoga Alliance. In 2006 she went on to study Perinatal Yoga with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli through the Birthlight Foundation.
Rachel finds that regular Yoga practice brings her peace, keeps the body and mind open & strong and the spirit alive. She has been teaching since 2006 as a way of sharing the gift of yoga with others. Rachel’s classes incorporate Breathwork (Pranayama), Yoga Postures (Asana) & Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) with a strong focus on using the breath to help access postures & focus the mind to bring clarity & deep relaxation & well-being – body, mind & soul come into balance.
Rachel feels privileged to have studied with many inspiring yoga teachers along the way, including Anthony Kearney, Matthew Sweeney, Danny Paradise, Ray Treacy, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Donna Farhi, John Friend, Noah Mazé, Betsey Downing & Christy Nones. She continues to attend yoga classes & workshops to further her practice & teaching skills.
In 2011 Rachel is undertaking a 100 hour Anusara Yoga Immersion to deepen her knowledge & understanding of Anusara yoga. Rachel teaches from her heart & from her own experience. She is deeply grateful to all the students & teachers she has met along the way who have taught her so much.”
