What is Amatsu?

Amatsu as practiced in Ireland is a modern, up-to-date adaptation of the ancient Japanese therapy which works with the body’s soft tissue (muscles, tendons, ligaments and organs) to help re-align and re-balance other key mechanical and energetic structures (e.g. the spine, bones, joints, cranium and meridian circuits).

It’s a non-invasive technique and there are no manipulations of the spine/body or thrusts in an Amatsu treatment. As a result, it is suitable for people of all ages (including babies and children), pregnant women and also those with limited mobility.

Amatsu treats your body as a whole, not just the symptoms. It comprises a number of different techniques such as massage, mobilisation, re-patterning and cranial balancing. Depending on the client’s health, needs and age the techniques used range from gentle to more firm. Each session is tailored for the specific needs of each client on any given day.

Amatsu focuses on the inter-relations of the body’s five major systems. These are the physical, mental, environmental, electrical (nervous system, energy levels and energy systems) and chemical (hormones and nutrition/diet). All these systems are inter-related, and if one or more of these is out of balance or not functioning correctly it will have a negative affect on the other parts too.
Amastu can work for you in many ways such as improving circulation to tired muscles, improving body alignment and also working on the stability of the skeleton.
