Mindfulness as described by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn is ‘the awareness that arises by paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgementally”.

It is the moment to moment awareness of thoughts, emotions and body sensations without trying to be or feel a certain way. Mindfulness teaches us to direct our attention to what is happening right here, right now, with an attitude of kindness towards ourselves and our experience.

Mindfulness is an attribute of consciousness long believed to promote well-being, and many studies have documented the physical and mental well-being of mindfulness in general and the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Programme in particular. At the Novara Centre we provide a variety of Mindfulness Programmes and classes ranging from the 8 week MBSR Programme, Days of Mindful Living, and weekly meditation drop-in sessions.

We are happy to answer any questions you may have about any of our courses and classes and provide guidance on which practice is the right one for you.
