Lara Dunlea

Lara is a highly experienced yoga teacher, childbirth educator and mother who has worked with hundreds of students at the Novara Centre through her role in leading classes in pregnancy yoga, hatha flow, and mum & baby yoga, as well as birth preparation workshops.

From a background in Psychology and Montessori education, Lara embarked on a career in yoga after experiencing its life-enhancing benefits first-hand, particularly under the tutelage of her teacher, Marianne Jacuzzi, who continues to inspire her practice.

The empowering experience of birthing her two children at home with the support of a wonderful midwife and partner fuelled Lara’s passion for the life-changing nature of positive birth and prompted her to pursue a wide range of trainings relating to birth preparation with such luminaries in the arena as Wendy Teasdil, Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, Tara Kileen and Tracy Donegan.

Lara is also a qualified GentleBirth and KGHypnobirthing instructor and has taught birth preparation workshops since 2016, providing mums-to-be and their birth partners with the psychological and physical tools required to optimise their experience of pregnancy, birth and parenting.

Furthermore, having certified as an instructor in Yoga for the Stages of Menopause under the guidance of Niamh Daly in 2020, Lara incorporates her understanding of the challenges and joys of the midlife experience into her hatha classes. She has also been exploring the teachings of Celtic mythology and Celtic wisdom through her involvement with the journey of the Celtic Wheel with Mari Kennedy since 2019 and weaves her appreciation and experience of this connection to Celtic wisdom into her offerings at the Novara Centre.
