Louise Patterson is an adult, child and adolescent Psychotherapist specialising in Play Therapy. Louise has been working and studying in the area of children’s mental health since 2005. During this time Louise has worked in a number of sectors including school settings, residential care settings, and for charitable bodies.
Louise has a wealth of experience from her years of work. She has worked therapeutically with families, children and teens living with life challenges such as anxiety, bereavement, selective mutism, parental separation, foster and residential care, ADHD, Autism, sensory processing issues, homelessness, family addiction, sexual abuse and children with problematic sexualised behaviour.
Louise’s interests are in the areas of attachment and trauma and she continues to study to further her knowledge in these areas.
Louise works in a client centred way providing therapy for children, adolescents and adults. Her clinical approach is to tailor her work to suit the client’s needs; this may be through talk therapy, play therapy, creative therapy and other approaches.
Louise is fully accredited with IAPTP; the Irish Association for Play Therapy and Psychotherapy. She also served as a member on their NEC committee in their founding years.
