Rachel is a Bray local passionate about sharing the benefits of yoga, movement, mindfulness and massage. Her yoga classes offer a supportive environment balancing safe instruction with a relaxed and playful nature. Students are encouraged to explore yoga as a personal practice which is different for everyone.
Rachel’s interest in movement and the human body began at an early age with gymnastics and dance. In later years, after post-run stretches evolved into lengthy sessions of stretching, breathing and mindfulness she soon discovered yoga. She has explored many styles of yoga in Australia, India, and Europe. In 2014, she travelled to India to train and qualified as a yoga teacher with Samyak Yoga. She is an accredited teacher with the International Yoga Alliance (RYT200). She has diverse teaching experience including yoga and previously, salsa dance and dance acrobatics.
In addition to yoga, Rachel is passionate about exploring other areas of holistic wellbeing including Massage Therapy. She recently trained as a massage therapist with Holistic College Dublin (ITEC L3 Holistic Massage and ITEC L3 Sports Massage).
Off the mat: Rachel studied Philosophy & Politics in Trinity College Dublin. Since then she has worked with various charities. Currently she works part time with befriending charity, Making Connections. She is an avid fan of Latin dance and running and can often be spotted bouncing along Bray Seafront.
“Yoga was always different to other activities. In addition to the physical benefits, the non-competitive practice offers mindfulness, relaxation, and a space to reflect and learn. It taught me how important it is to just be still sometimes. In a hectic world it helps bring my feet to the ground and put things in perspective.”
