Siofra O’Donovan is a published author, a freelance journalist and a travel writer. She has been facilitating creative writing workshops for over eleven years through Poetry Ireland, The Writers in Schools Panel, the Writers in Prisons Panel (Arts Council of Ireland), for Sunbeam House, Thornfield House, Wicklow and Dublin VECs and Maynooth University.
Her writing workshops are not think tanks of criticism and competition, but crucibles of creativity. At the Novara Centre, she provides a safe, intensely creative space using a method she has developed called Creative Meditation to break down the barriers between the conscious and the subconscious mind. Her workshops are based on the work of Joseph Campbell and the Hero’s Journey, a powerful archetypal journey which can be written in a personal or fictional form.
